This 2-day Uganda Martyrs trail safari will take you through the story of the Uganda Martyrs that were killed cruelly but stood and faced death courageously because of their Faith.
This is East Africa’s focal Christian Pilgrimage Centre.
Highlights of the Safari.
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala and drive you to the starting point – Munyonyo site where the then king Mwanga made a fatal decision of putting these Christian servants to death. All Christians now prisoners were sentenced to death, they were bound together brutally made to walk, dragged for days till they reached their execution site at Namugongo and were all finally killed on 3rd June 1886. After this proceed to Buganda Kingdom Parliament in Bulange and the Kings Palace in Lubiri.
You will have lunch and proceed to Rubaga Cathedral one of the oldest churches whose glass windows have unique writings of the Uganda Martyrs, a spot where the King of Buganda wrote a letter inviting missionaries to Uganda.
Proceed to Namirembe Cathedral the oldest Cathedral in Uganda. The day’s activities end with a tour of the National Mosque at Old Kampala for a 360 degrees view of the 7 hills of Kampala.
Wake up early have breakfast and prepare to be picked up by your guide to take you to Kasubi tombs established in 1880. This is where royals of Buganda are buried. It’s a place where the King and his representatives normally carry out important rituals related to the Buganda Culture. After this you will be driven to Namugongo Martyrs museum & shrine where Christian servants to the then King Mwanga were hacked and burnt down to death for refusing to denounce their faith.
They were among the first Christian converts in this country.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
