Ssese Island comprises 84 islands situated on Lake Victoria, the second largest freshwater lake in Africa, within Kalangala district. Predominantly known for fishing, tourism is emerging as a significant industry. Bugala Island, the largest and most popular, is accompanied by other notable islands such as Bubembe, Nsirwe, Funve, Kigungu, Ngamba, and Kalangala. These islands boast clear waters, pristine beaches, and untouched rainforests.

Tour Plan

Our safari guide/ Driver will pick you up from the Airport or hotel in Entebbe or Kampala and drive you to Nakiwogo landing site in Entebbe before 2:00pm. You will then sail to the largest island Bugala. While on the ferry, enjoy the beautiful sites of the 2nd largest fresh water lake in the world. You will then be taken to your hotel for relaxation.   A camp fire can lit on your request later in the evening.

Mid-Range [ Pearl Garsen Hotel]

Meal plan: Lunch & Dinner.

Begin your beautiful day with heavy breakfast which can be brought to you at the beach as you watch the sunrise. After breakfast, you will go for a guided nature walk within the Island. The island guide will take you to all the beautiful and important places around while sharing their historical and cultural significances. He / She will also help you spot birds, butterflies, Primates and other wildlife in the Forest. Take as many photos as you like of the Island. There will be several other activities like spot Fishing, boat cruising, beach games etc.

You can also hire a bike from the Lodge to visit different parts of the Island with a guide.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

After breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and transfer back to Entebbe or Kampala. The ferry leaves Bugala at 8am and reaches Entebbe at 11am. Your Guide will meet you at Nakiwogo to take you back to your hotel or Airport. We hope you enjoyed your stay at Bugala island.

    We always stay at here when in town. The location is great, staff is wonderful and we love the overall feel. Beautiful view from the here.

    It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
